We’re all taught that looks don’t matter. However, a bright and healthy smile can drastically improve self-esteem and job prospects. First impressions are undeniably important, and a confident smile plays a key role. At Valley View Dental Care, we are here to help you smile proudly and confidently, and offer a variety of services to get you there.
Health is Beauty
Often times, procedures generally considered ‘cosmetic’ are actually beneficial to your oral health. For example, Invisalign helps prevent excessive wear and damage to your teeth (Curious how? Check out our Invisalign page). Because we associate health with beauty, it’s not surprising that healthy teeth are beautiful teeth. This means that the first step to a perfect smile is a healthy mouth. Take care of any existing decay or gum disease, and prevent future damage with consistent cleaning, both at home and with a dental hygienist.
There are a few procedures that are purely cosmetic. Our in-office whitening does not affect your oral health, but brightens teeth for a whiter and more youthful appearance. If you are interested, take a look at our whitening page- we explain the procedure, and have some tips and tricks to keeping your smile white outside of professional bleaching.
Another predominantly cosmetic procedure is veneers. A veneer is a porcelain ‘facade’ that goes on top of your existing tooth to perfect its appearance. In order to place the veneer, some of your existing tooth’s enamel is removed, and then a custom veneer is made to fit on top. When designing veneers, the shade and shape are specifically designed to match adjacent teeth, and then they are made in a laboratory off-site. Temporary veneers are made first, allowing us to be 100% confident in the shape and color before placing the permanent ones.
Veneers are a great option for patients looking to cover cracked, chipped, or heavily stained teeth. They can also be used to fill gaps or change the size and shape of teeth for an even smile. Some patients may opt to place a veneer over one tooth, while others may opt to place veneers on several teeth.
If you have any questions regarding veneers or any of our cosmetic procedures, please feel free to contact us- we are all passionate about helping you achieve your ideal smile, and are always happy to answer questions!
